The Arcam F19 sounds like a mug of Bournville hot chocolate tastes. Which means that, like a good mug of hot chocolate, the Arcam is not one to offer pizazz and fireworks. To add another drinking metaphor, it’s not a glass of champagne. It does its job competently and efficiently…without the bubbles. Arcam has been producing specialist audio products of remarkable quality for over three decades and the new A19 amplifier is the latest in a long line of award winning HiFi.

The Arcam FMJ A19 is an integrated stereo amplifier able to deliver 2×50 W at 8 Ohms and 2×90 W at 4 Ohms. It is equipped with RCA line inputs and a phono MM preamp. The 80s style green light LCD screen makes for a simple design which goes really well with its thick steel front panel and gives it a very serious look. Inside the A19 Arcam say there has been a focus on the power section of the amp and (I wondered what the two weird little cables in the pack were for) you can power up to two of Arcam’s r-Series products from the amp.
